Women's Real Views On Shoes

We all know that women love shoes, but do we love wearing them? A recent survey on the opinions of men and women towards their choice of footwear seems to prove otherwise.

When women buy shoes a switch seems to flick in our brains, attracting us to beautiful shoes that we’ll never wear. 8/10 female respondents have 9 pairs of shoes that they’ve worn once, twice or not at all; in contrast 9/10 male respondents wear all of their shoes. This means that if this survey is representative of the whole population, there are 221 million pairs of women’s shoes sitting, forgotten in cupboards across the UK. Proof perhaps that we women may love buying shoes, but we don’t enjoy wearing them!

If further proof is needed, women admitted that they were twice as likely to choose style over comfort. Men on the other hand think that comfort and style are equally important when choosing footwear. But is this a fair comparison? It’s no secret that women’s shoes are often made with style in mind. You only have to look at the shelves of skyscraper heels to see that.

The one thing men and women seem to agree on is the price. The most popular price range for both sexes is a very reasonable £50-99, meaning that our mid-range high street stores and online retailers are the most popular places to buy from. What are your views on these findings?
