Last night Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon showed up to a charity event in New York City and shelled out some big bucks for a good cause, according to People.com. The fundraiser was in support of the Urban Arts Partnership which works to infuse art into education for children in school districts all over NYC. It took place at the Opera Gallery in SoHo where attendees could bid on items to benefit the charity. Several celebrities including Ellen DeGeneres, Swizz Beatz, and Mariah herself designed shoes to be auctioned off that night. Nick put in the highest bid of the evening at $21,000 for a pair of Project Canvas shoes that also came with a watch by Audemars Piguet. Mariah's custom made footwear received the highest bid for a single pair of shoes when BET Chairman Debra Lee took them home for $2,000.
