Azealia Banks is now the star of luxury designer Alexander Wang’s T line, officially putting a face to the voice that dominated the fashion world last season when her debut single “212” became a hit at fashion week shows. In the T Fall 2012 video, the 21-year-old hip hop star from Harlem raps “Van Vogue,” a track from her recent EP titled “1991.” “She exudes a certain rawness that makes her a very unique talent,” Wang told Style.com. Banks and Wang have teamed up before— she was the designer’s date for the 2012 Met Gala and also provided music for his Spring 2012 ready-to-wear campaign with Liya Kibebe. And Wang isn’t the only designer to show a likeness for the musician— Karl Lagerfeld asked her to perform in his home during a dinner celebrating the launch of his Net-a-Porter clothing line earlier this year.
