A recent article by luxury fashion photographer/commentator Bill Cunningham fairly summarizes what occurred at the Dior and Yves Saint Laurent Spring Shows at Fashion Week. Both fashion houses have new designers— Raf Simons for Dior and Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent— and the crowds expected something revolutionary from both of them. Instead, the designers created looks that the everyday woman would actually buy and wear instead of pieces that resembled theatrical costumes.
