Okay, well this is officially the weirdest fashion news we’ve heard this year. It seems that several designers have partnered with Italian retailer Luisa Via Roma and Hasbro to create what is essentially a collection of well-dressed My Little Ponies. Part of the Make Kids Happy Project for the bi-annual Firenze 4 Ever fashion event, the cartoon horses have been redesigned as a way to raise money for Save the Children and the Nepal Earthquake charities (which makes it a little less strange), and some are already available for purchase on eBay.
Participating brands include Balmain, Rick Owens, Versace, Kenzo, Roberto Cavalli, Delpozo, Faith Connexion, Missoni, Emilio Pucci, Marni and Fendi—yep, Karl Lagerfeld designed a My Little Pony. Each one-off horse is unique, from Fendi’s fur covered pony to Rick Owens’ all black pony. If you’re thinking of grabbing one for a daughter, niece (or yourself—no judgments) it might be best to bid ASAP. Prices are already hovering between €351 and €705 (approx. $398 to $800).
