Johnnie Walker Blue Label: Define Your Hero Johnnie Walker Blue Label: The boss stuck his head out the door of his office and asked me to come see him right away. He seemed happy and said that it was important. Since it looked like some well-deserved recognition was en route, I dropped everything and rushed in. As I entered, he held up a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label whiskey. Raising it toward me, I thought we were about to celebrate my long overdue pay raise with a celebratory glass of whiskey from Johnnie Walker's most expensive line.
Before I had a chance to sit, he blurted, "Let me ask you. If you could share this bottle with one man, who would it be?"
As I pondered my response, the phone rang, the boss hurriedly motioned for me to leave, and that was the end of that. I am not sure what my boss did with that fanciful bottle of fine whiskey. He certainly didn't share any of it with me. But it was a good question to consider. Who would I want to share a bottle of what many view as the finest blended scotch produced?
Would it best to share the coveted Blue Label with my best friend, or would it be better to share it with the individual who had the most influence on my life? Over the years it has been used to celebrate many special days, memorable events, and magical moments. A bottle of it may serve its owner well for years and even be passed down from one generation to another. Its presence adds substance.
The Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a blend of some of the most expensive and rare whiskies. Its smell, taste, texture, and after-taste are reminiscent of scotches of the nineteenth century. Some of the whiskies used in it may be aged up to 60 years. It has been a favorite of the Royal Family dating back to the days of Prince Albert.
If I could share a bottle with only one man, it would be with the person I view as my best friend and the one having the most influence in my life, it would be the man who filled both roles flawlessly with indefatigable efforts. That man would be my father. Is there a hero in your life that deserves a little recognition for a job well done?
You don't have to wait until Father's Day. However, it would be an ideal day to launch a new family tradition.
