Cabana Cachaça Is "Authentically Brasil" Super Premium Cachaça: When a drink represents an entire country like the caipirinha represents Brasil, only the best spirits will do. The popularity of the caipirinha, the national cocktail of Brasil, is increasing around the world. The drink made with cachaça has gone from an obscure national favorite to one of the most-desired cocktail choices being served across the continents. Already wildly popular in the U.K. and Brasil, the caipirinha is spreading across America, with as many as a dozen brands of cachaça already in the marketplace.
CabanaCachaca.com is the premium cachaça of choice. Along with being touted by the likes of the New York Times, Business Week and Wine & Spirits magazine, it won the prestigious Gold Medal in the 2008 Ministry of Rum Tasting Competition. Unlike other cachaças, the Cabana label is available only in upscale five-star-level establishments.
The trailblazing company with an affluent following launched a provocative ad campaign over the summer -- Authentically Brasilian -- featuring an array of models, who received plenty of exposure with ads that appeared in Men's Vogue, Playboy, and Esquire. Cabana also is participating in various social soirees, such as The Sex Issue Party by Los Angeles Magazine and its long-term partnership with IODICE, one of Brasil's leading fashion houses, to sponsor seasonal event-related affairs and parties. Cabana also is expanding its participation in fundraising events to increase brand awareness and to be a responsible corporate citizen.
More on Cachaça!
Cachaça is the third-most distilled spirit in the world and Brasil's most-common distilled alcohol. Cabana makes its cachaça smoother tasting due to its innovative distillation process; it is double-distilled in pot stills and then mellowed in special wooden barrels for six months. Like all fine rums, super-premium cachaça is processed from sugarcane in small batches. When cachaça is made in mass production and processed with molasses instead of sugarcane, it results in a harsher taste.
Introducing super-premium cachaça to North America was the mission of Matti Anttila, the CEO and founder of Cabana Cachaça. His goal was to capture the spirit of "Brasil," specifically, the essence of the untamed Rio de Janeiro nightlife -- and putting that vitality into producing the world's finest cachaça. Securing Cabana's sugarcane supply from the rich fields in the state of Sao Paulo enables the super-premium cachaça maker to expand even further.
Brasil's national mixed drink, the caipirinha, is made with two ounces of cachaça, one tablespoon of granulated sugar, a quartered lime, and a splash of club soda. Score recipes for seven cocktails with cachaça at CabanaCachaca.com.
