Fashion Shows: This November, plan on getting Island Fever, as The Islands of The World Fashion Week shows off some of the most innovative luxury designs from up and coming designers from island countries around the world.
The Islands of the World Fashion Week is put on by Mode Iles, Ltd., a branch of The Montaque Group which strives to showcase designers that are either from or based in islands around the world. The event is endorsed by United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (UNESCO) based in Paris and hopes to help drive attention to important world issues including global issues of the environment and climate change, the education of youth on HIV/AIDS, and poverty alleviation.
In addition to guest designers, The Islands of The World Fashion Week will also display the unique styles of approximately 30 garment and accessories designers from 11 island states at the historic British Colonial Hilton in downtown Nassau. Some of the island countries represented include Analu from Cuba, Apryl Weech from the Bahamas, Bula Pride and Cabe Creations from Fiji as well as host of other couture designers.
Among the international guest designers that will be showing at The Islands of The World Fashion Week shows is fashion designer to the stars, Kevan Hall, whose list of celebrity clients include Vanessa Williams and Sharon Stone among a multitude of other fashionably attired women. Mr. Hall will close Islands of The World Fashion Week.
The Islands of The World Fashion Week takes place November 5-8 at the historic British Colonial Hilton in downtown Nassau and includes a lavish gala opening and closing as well as designer shows, a trends workshop as well as a host of pre-show events.
