Awards season is officially upon us and the highlight of the ceremonies is the upcoming Academy Awards. To celebrate this year's best films and the people that make them, Suzy Amis Cameron, actress and wife of director James Cameron, is giving aspiring designers and fashionistas a chance to go to Los Angeles for a Hollywood pre-Oscar party.

The international contest encourages Oscar fashion-lovers to submit an original design made of renewable materials by February 2.

Ms. Cameron is choosing the winner, who will receive:
  • A free trip (with swanky hotel and flights included) for the winner and his/her model
  • $2,000 to make the dress and get featured on RedCarpetGreenDress.com
  • A "red" (it's actually green!) carpet walk at an Oscar pre-party in Hollywood on February 23, as guests of James Cameron and Suzy Amis Cameron
Last year's winning design was worn by Ms. Cameron, but this year's winner will have the opportunity to choose their model. Competition proceeds go to the MUSE schools, which Suzy Amis Cameron founded, to help educate kids around the world.
