Max and Parisa Fowles take the meaning behind the term “teamwork” to a different level. The husband-wife duo are the creative minds behind luxury fashion brand MAXFOWLES. The collaboration between two entrepreneurial and fashion-focused minds results in the sophisticated ready-to-wear line that MAXFOWLES is today. The label’s Femme Winter Collection for 2012 is its first, and from what we can tell, the couple are off to a good (and stylish) start.
The label’s European characteristics can be attributed solely to the couple’s background. Max, a global traveler, was born in London and grew up between Europe and South Africa. His worldly experiences as well as his fashion-forward mother are to thank for his unique and refined personal aesthetic. His wife, Parisa, spent her childhood in Stockholm reconstructing items from her mother’s wardrobe into her own creations. She worked in fashion retail before pursuing a career in international fashion in London, where she met her future husband.
Their first collection together is a true testament to their life passions, including architecture, the luxe lifestyle, and their world travels. The sophisticated ready-to-wear line combines European elegance with a sharp New York influence. Luxury fabrics like leather, silk and cashmere are not only prominent, but dominating of the winter collection— combined with impeccable tailoring, the minimalist aesthetic results in a classic look that could transcend trends for years to come.
Quilted diamond-stitched leather is easily the core of this collection— we see it in whole pieces like skirts and jackets, but also in patches placed on a range of denims and cashmere dresses. Chic blouses, sophisticated riding jackets, and touches of fur sleeves also make appearances in the winter collection, resulting in an overall look that can best be described in my own words as “the Hamptons socialite meets Manhattan rebel.” Pieces range from $240 to $2,530.
