Ever since F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby in 1925, the iconic Jay Gatsby's casual sophistication has been something that men covet and women swoon over. Fittingly, the eternally dapper Robert Redford played the role of Gatsby in the 1974 movie rendition; while hunky heartthrob Leonardo Dicaprio will take on the character in the upcoming remake that is scheduled to hit theaters this summer. But it's not good looks alone that make these men so desirable; they both display an extra edge and masculine charm that set them above the rest. The same can be said for the newest collection by luxury brand Robert Talbott, which took inspiration from Fitzgerald's literary classic.

Founded in 1950 by husband-wife team Robert and Audrey Talbott, this dapper brand is based out of the quaint Calironia town of Carmel. Originally, Audrey Talbott simply enjoyed sewing unique bowties for her husband, family and friends; however, by 1955 she and her beau had turned her hobby and talent into a thriving business of quality neckwear. The first official Robert Talbott store opened in 1958, and the brand extended to include dress shirts in 1990.

As a prime example of the refined men's style that the Monterey Peninsula is known for, the Robert Talbott brand provides wearers with apparel that is expertly crafted with distinctive design sensibility. The Gatsby Collection proves to fall right in line with the brand's sophisticated style with crisp detailing, clean lines and flashy prints that are certainly worthy of a Daisy Buchanan moment of cascading clothes in the Gatsby Mansion.

Even the product titles, like The Daisy, The Fitzgerald, and the Long Island, ring true to the line's theme. Price points for products in The Gatsby Collection range from $95 to $495.
