Black and White Ruled the Red Carpet on Day Nine of the Cannes Film Festival

Day nine of the Cannes Film Festival was met with resounding applaud when it came to the films—the fashion however felt quite drab. Black and white littered the red carpet in lackluster designs leaving us less than impressed. With such monochromatic colors, cut needed to play a key role in drawing attention to the design, but boring pantsuits, floor-length gowns and form fitting bodices made it feel like everyone was playing it too safe. A few exceptions included Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in a gold Emilio Pucci gown and Lara Stone in a two-piece ensemble that was less gala and more party, but she totally rocked it.
