Everyone loves a good collaboration, so you might be happy to hear that bad-ass, too-cool-for-school activewear label Bad Bunch NYC has teamed up with the equally awesome Canadian electro-pop musician Kiesza. The two have jointly designed a Summer-Pre Fall '15 collection christened Select Surrealism.
Sporty, edgy, bright and a throwback to the ‘80s, Kiesza has put together a sort of sports-luxe look that—as the title suggests—is a little bit out there. This is one for the artistic and athletic guys and gals.
The collection is daring and bold, with bright and garish prints, and traffic-stopping patterns. Tops, jackets, tight-fitting leggings, bras and skirts come in streamlined silhouettes, perfect for anyone who is confident in their physique and sartorial choices. And you’ll have to be—these outrageous, super trippy prints feature stingrays swimming serenely in the sky with planes printed on a simple sports bra, or two dueling swordfish on the back of a loose fitting bomber jacket. Even though the pieces are very contemporary, the prints are oddly beautiful, creating a unique, and unexpected, sportswear-inspired collection. Just imagine how cool you’d look in your local Equinox dressed up in Kiesza’s collection?
Looking at this lineup, it’s apparent that Kiesza’s talents lie further than her voice. Unless you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t been on the Internet, you know—or have definitely heard of—Kiesza. Her 2014 release of her Hideaway EP topped US and UK charts with the single receiving over 29 million plays on YouTube. And her unique style has not been missed by the fashion pack—Fendi snapped her up quickly, making her the face of their 2014 Color Block eyewear campaign.
Bad Bunch NYC founder, René Louison, said of the electro-pop diva, "From inception to fruition, working alongside Kiesza for this collection was an exceptional experience. She has a unique personal aesthetic and the natural ability to take her surreal ideas and translate them into fashion.”
Kiesza for Bad Bunch NYC is available online and priced from $90-$300.
