It’s time to pack away your grandmother’s vintage fur jacket. Let’s face it—it’s a little outdated, unflattering and probably smells just a touch musty (damn you, mothballs!). Fur has a history of being both a highly coveted and highly controversial fabric, but those who adore the super soft textile might be excited to hear that Pologeorgis is finally launching an e-commerce store at the end of September in conjunction with the release of their new Fall/Winter 2015 collection.

Pologeorgis

Established in 1960, Stanley Pologeorgis quickly made a name for himself in fashion, supplying furs to designers, celebrities and the fur industry. In the ‘70s Pierre Balmain designed the house’s first collection of furs, and since then the label has become a mainstay in fashion. Over the years the brand has worked with names like Zac Posen, Fendi and Michael Kors, and is still the go-to brand for luxurious furs. Almost 60 years later, this family business is still going strong and sourcing fur to the fashion industry’s elite designers.

Pologeorgis

Pologeorgis’ furs can often be found in our favorite boutiques: Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys—the regulars. A firm favorite amongst the fur-loving fashion crowd, the brand’s pieces have graced the pages of many Vogue editorial shoots and the shoulders of numerous A-listers. Among our furry favorites are the gorgeous chevron fur vests that would pair wonderfully well with a knitted cashmere turtleneck. Also lookout for their fox fur infinity scarfs that are perfect for those who just want a little touch of texture to their outfits. They also have specialized tailors that can literally invent anything you want—fancy diamond encrusted, leather collared fox fur cape? They’ve got it covered. Furs can be dyed any color so if you want a magenta or turquoise fur coat, well the only place is Pologeorgis.

Pologeorgis

From fox throws, to gorgeously rich mink coats, little fur pom-pom key chains for your handbag to even hand-beaded detailing on your new chinchilla scarf, the atelier can make any of your fur dreams come true. So get ready for their online store and be prepared to channel your inner icy Russian goddess.
