Prada is the latest brand to release their Resort 2016 campaign. In the photos and accompanying video, Prada favorites and up-and-comers like Lineisy Montero, Meghan Collison, Lexi Boling, Ina Maribo Jensen and Julia Nobis exude a rebellious edge while wearing Miuccia Prada’s “pop decorativism” collection. Lensed by Steven Meisel, the portrait-style images capture the defiant looks of each girl against a stark industrial backdrop. It’s a surprisingly fresh look, especially for a resort collection.
Styled by Olivier Rizzo, with makeup by Pat McGrath and hair by Guido, the campaign gives the collection a new, playful twist. The imagery toys with the juxtaposition between the dark, unfeeling background and the bright, quirky apparel, making it pop on the screen. On the runway, the Resort 2016 collection was an eclectic, but intentional, mashup of prints, colors, textiles and silhouettes—here it finally looks wearable and covetable.
