Karl Lagerfeld has always been known for pushing boundaries, and this time it pertains to the intimate technology of Chanel. The show was held at the Grand Palais, where models walked between huge, blinking monoliths made to appear like a data center. The most recent collection from the iconic French brand gave viewers a glimpse of futuristic robots in chic tweed suits, silk shirt dresses adorned with colorful, threadbare squiggles, and playful ball caps worn sideways. When asked about the inspiration behind this show, Lagerfeld details that, "The data center is something of our time. The idea of the modern woman, whatever the time, the century, or the idea of the circumstances are...[is] to have a fluid familiarity that is also bountiful." The collection celebrates all things futuristic and digital, and particularly what the future may hold for Chanel.
