Luxury Beauty Products: Now they all just want to get under your skin! Stella McCartney, Tom Ford, and Giorgio Armani are tossing their hat, actually, their name, into the burgeoning luxury skin-care products market. It is the "Wild, Wild Invest" era as demand for high-end skin products is booming sonically. Skin-care and beauty companies are flocking to align themselves with recognizable brand names in the world of haute couture. Previously such products were pretty much dealt with by the industry's "Fab Four" of L'Oréal, Estée Lauder, Clarins and Clinique.
McCartney's products, which are already selling in Continental Europe, are Care 5 Benefits Moisturizing Fluid and Purifying Foaming Cleanser. With a little give and take attributable to fluctuating currency conversions, Care 5 is priced around $88, while the PFC costs about $40. YSL Beauté and Ms. McCartney are working together to fully develop the Care product line. This summer Care skin-care products will be sold in her boutiques and London's famed Selfridge's.
Giorgio Armani has teamed up with L'Oréal to launch Crem Nera skin treatment. The skin cream, which contains an obsidian-stone extract, will be sold in 1.76-ounce jars at approximately $330. Separate versions for men and women will be offered. Armani skin-care products are expected to be available by September. Visit
