Diving Into Acrylic Aquariums

Acrylic Aquariums: This is the dawning of the age of acrylic aquariums! Indoor aquatic ecosystems are integral design elements that are being incorporated in both private residences and commercial venues. There are custom-built and pre-manufactured options that boost decorum and aesthetics swimmingly.

Aquarium ASP makes the Spacearium. It is a standalone aquarium that hangs on a mounting rail that is connected to a ceiling's structure. There is no stand or casing around the tank. The aquarium's elliptical shape and transparent construction allow for an obstructed view from literally any angle in a room.

The lightweight Spacearium collection is available in three models. The largest unit is 95 inches across and holds 73 gallons of water. It measures 28.5 inches top to bottom, and 12 inches front to back. The tank's filtration system is easy to maintain and can be positioned up to 15 feet away from the aquarium. Intelligently designed complementing stainless steel tubes contain the hoses of the filtration system. There are saltwater and fresh-water systems. The price of the 73-gallon Spacearium is $8,400 at the company's Web site.

More Choices

Other fanciful acrylic aquariums can be experienced at AquariumSource.com. The firm's aquariums are custom built from eight different tank shapes and various cabinets made of exotic woods. The Articles section of the outfit's Web site has a treasure chest of helpful information on how to buy the right aquarium.

Living Color specializes in designing and building aquariums for a wide breadth of industries and private households. Their custom-made aquariums transform any area into a man-made aquatic masterpiece. Home & Garden TV, the Discovery Channel, major films and numerous magazines articles have featured aquariums designed by Living Color. The company's scope of work is very impressive.
