 Luxury Linens Starting at $2,000 Linen & Bedding: D. Porthault, a Paris-based designer of upscale linen and bedding accessories for luxury homes, is joining the 21st century with a new and improved Web site. The venerable firm, which has been in business since 1920, is launching a new site in the fall 2008. The company's current Web presence, D. Porthault.com, consists only of a brief musical introduction followed by a listing of shopping venues carrying the brand.
The exquisite linens and bedding, which are available in NYC, Paris, London, Cannes, Tokyo, and Palm Beach are for the affluent only with custom linens beginning at around $4,000 and stocked merchandise at more than $2,000 per set.
The quality of the merchandise is unquestionable. Since tastes are quite personal in bedroom decorum, it is difficult to offer commentary without being critical of someone else's personal preferences. The only point we are trying to make is that only a company of the highest reputation could sell bedding and accessories this expensive for this length of time.
