Home Décor: Here is a unique lighting solution that is decorative, practical, and innovative. While these polyethylene orbs are relatively new to America, these fantastic multiple-use lamps have been aglow in residential and commercial settings throughout Europe, Asia, and the Middle East for years. These are the same lamps that are being used to even further brighten up the posh resorts, nightclubs, and shopping areas, parks, and residences of the ever-expanding luxury-latent city of Dubai.

The source of this new stream of light for the USA is the German-based company Moonlight Globe Lights. The lighting company garnered a lot of attention at the biennial 2008 Frankfurt Light and Building Show, the world's largest tradeshow for architecture and technology, with its intriguing "Moving Moonlight" display. The eye-catching exhibit of a self-propelled robotic globe light attracted a large crowd to Moonlight's booth every day of the professional fair.

Aside from the novel lamps surrealistic appearance, the lunar-inspired indoor and outdoor lamps are versatile and durable. The global- and half-global shaped lights can be run by rechargeable batteries or be permanently hardwired. The durable geometric-shaped lamps are water-resistant up to IP54 and operable even under the most-extreme temperatures, ranging from a frosty minus 40 up to a steamy 80 degrees Celsius. The lights are safe to the touch as the polyethylene covering prevents the units from heating up.

Moonlight globe lamps are available in sizes from 13 to 30 inches in diameter and priced from $325 up to $1,000. The crescent- and half-crescent -shaped lights can float on water or be mounted or affixed to various surfaces indoors and outdoors. Filters are available to change the lamps' color output.

The outfit's latest product is a Moonlight Sound System that combines lights and speakers into one moveable piece. The "light" sound system is available in 120-, 150-, and 200-watt configurations.

The designer lamps are brightening up homes, gardens, and various commercial settings, such as hotel lobbies, restaurants, and common areas of buildings. Although Moonlight lamps are relatively new to the U.S. marketplace, the company is projecting that approximately 50 percent of its futures sales will stem from the USA.

Moonlight USA is the exclusive U.S. distributor of Moonlight products. Check out the entire compelling collection at www.moonlight-inc.com
