Available in brown with polished gold fittings or black with polished nickel fittings, the set consists of a document tray, blotter, letter opener, scissors, memo pad holder and pencil cup.
The firm was founded in 1946 by Theodore Anthony, who had designed luxe cosmetic cases for Elizabeth Arden and decided to open his own shop on Upper Madison Avenue and expand his repertoire. He gained immediate success with a commission from the worlds most stylish couple, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, who ordered a set of custom luggage. Then Marilyn Monroe did likewise in the 1950s, commissioning a set of luggage in bright red, followed by Jackie Onassis in the 60s (bright blue), and even President Richard Nixon in the 70s who went with plain black.
