Home Décor: Seemingly a contradiction in terms, Rustic Modernism is on the cutting edge of design.

2modern design talk is reporting on Swiss architect, Lauren Savoiz's recent renovation of the Roduit House in Chamoson, Switzerland. By retaining parts of an old stone home and blending them with modern elements and aesthetic details, Savoiz seems to have elegantly blended an old structure with modern times, and even more miraculously, right into the surrounding environment.

Utilizing and revitalizing stone walls, Savoiz removed old wooden structural elements and replaced them with poured concrete. The result is a juxtaposition of rough and smooth surfaces, which is mimicked on the interior as well.
