 Breakaway Career - DEDON Creations Luxury Home Decor: After playing professional soccer it seems perfectly natural to get into the furniture making business. Well, not really. But for Bobby Dekeyse, whose family owned a plastic manufacturing plant, the quest to build weather-resilient furniture was perfectly natural.
While utilitarian in origin, Dekeyse's creations became synonymous with sophisticated design and sensible durability-a good reason his furniture stands the test of time at world-class hotels, spas, restaurants, lounges and on the sun decks of international cruise liners.
What's the secret? Surprisingly the folks at DEDON are more than happy to share the family formula (maybe because it's internationally trademarked). Dekeyse's family developed a new, uniquely sturdy synthetic fiber called Hularo, which is now the cornerstone of DEDON furniture... and a very cool website to show off their creations.
