Petition With 118K Signatures Urges Victoria's Secret to Make Mastectomy "Survivor Bras"

HEALTH & BEAUTY | by: NICOLLE KEOGH
One Virginia woman's idea of a Fantasy Bra is much different than the $2.5 million stunner that Victoria’s Secret angel Alessandra Ambrosio wore down the runway a few months ago. After getting 118,000 supporting signatures, Allana Maiden and her mother Debbie Barrett approached Victoria’s Secret this morning with their proposition for the luxury brand to make special bras for breast cancer survivors. Victoria’s Secret responded to the “survivor bra” petition by inviting the mother/daughter duo to discuss the idea further at the Ohio headquarters of Limited Brands (Victoria’s Secret’s parent company) after Maiden and Barrett presented the signatures to Tammy Roberts Myers, Vice

Sleek Monochrome for Fall Courtesy of Givenchy Men's RTW

WOMENS STYLE | by: ANNALISA SOLARI
Givenchy’s talented luxury designer, Riccardo Tisci, is perhaps best known to the general public for his ferocious graphics. Last season, for example, his angry dog T-shirt was worn by a multitude of celebrities and subsequently found scattered all throughout the blogosphere. While this season’s menswear collection for fall still features interesting graphics, they are far less "rabid dog" and much more religious and reminiscent of Latin culture.

Chanel Enchants With Spring Couture Collection

WOMENS STYLE | by: NICOLLE KEOGH
If ever there were an enchanted forest in real life, it was the one seen at last week’s Chanel show held at the Grand Palais in Paris, at which designer Karl Lagerfeld presented his Couture collection for the luxury brand. Actual trees and shrubbery were shipped in one-by-one to the venue at which Lagerfeld has presented in the past. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” was apparently the inspiration for the show, and the actual collection is just as fascinating as the set itself.

Burberry Gone Wild | Fall/Winter RTW Debuts in Milan

Burberry 2013 RTW Fall Winter
WOMENS STYLE | by: TINA STEWART
Burberry opened its autumn/ winter RTW show at Milan’s fashion week to the awakening sound of cathedral church bells against a darkened city-scape background — London of course. Are they heralding something new and exciting? Most likely, because Christopher Bailey, Chief Creative Director of Burberry since 2009, has been revamping the brand significantly during his tenure — modernizing the heritage classic, and ushering it into the technological age.

Raf Simons Goes Green for Dior Spring Couture

WOMENS STYLE | by: ANNALISA SOLARI
Have you ever really stopped to think about the presentation of plants? Well, probably not, but not everyone thinks in the same fashion as the luxury designer of top design house Dior, Raf Simons. As Simons so shrewdly noted, there is a major difference between mere flora and manicured gardens. This distinction led the designer to allow artificial colors and nature-inspired shapes appear throughout the collection with a show premise that was said by Simons to be inspired by “the very idea of spring.”

Breguet's Tourbillon Watch Exhibit Celebrates Cenutries of Horological History

Classique Complication
JEWELRY & WATCHES | by: TINA STEWART
Legendary horologist and founder of luxury watch company Breguet, Abraham-Louis Breguet made timekeeping history in 1801 with the invention of a much-needed, but highly complex watch mechanism. Seeing the adverse effect gravity had on reliable timekeeping, he created the tourbillon— an escapement housed within a mobile carriage that performs a complete rotation every couple of minutes. Basically, the regular repetition of the tourbillon’s variations offsets those made by gravity. It was a tough assignment for Bregeut to pull off, as it requires a certain durability while nonetheless maintaining its light weight.

Bespoke Suits by Online Startup 7 Regent Lane

WOMENS STYLE | by: JAMES ROTHAAR
If a company contacts us and says it sells premium luxury suits for less than $700, we are going to try to find out as much as possible before writing about it. The online clothier, 7 Regent Lane, is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based startup that opened its website in late January, 2012. Two business students from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, along with another partner, launched it when they found a gap in the market for impressive bespoke suits.

Karl Makes Another Controversial Statement, This Time on the Runway

CHATTER | by: NICOLLE KEOGH
Luxury designer Karl Lagerfeld made quite the statement today on the tails of a recent march in Paris that protested French president Francois Hollande's plan to legalize gay marriage. Such a statement was made at Lagerfeld's haute couture show for Chanel, during which the fashion maven sent two models hand-in-hand down the runway wearing couture bridal gowns. The pair of models, who walked with one of the designer's young nephews, closed out the long-awaited show that occurred as a part of Paris Fashion Week. To make himself clear, when asked by the Associated Press if the act was made in support of gay marriage in France, Lagerfeld replied, "Of course it was."
