Luxury Watches: In the rarefied world of the world's largest yachts, the ultimate achievement is to have one designed by Norwegian naval architect Espen Oeino. The brightest star the field, Oeino's megabucks megayachts "combine the precision of fine machinery with indulgent finishes and the high-end amenities of a palace." Among his many achievements is Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's 413-ft. Octopus, the 8th largest yacht in the world and the second largest superyacht that is not owned by a head of state.
Now Oeino is preparing to launch another masterpiece: a limited edition watch Swiss luxury timepiece brand Scalfaro, which evinces a passion for maritime sports married to traditional craftsmanship and sopgisticated manufacturing. The Scalfaro for Espen Oeino Edition watch will be launched during the Monaco Yacht Show in September. Limited to 100 pieces worldwide, the exclusive timepiece will be priced at 6,950 euros or about $10,000 - a relative bargain for an original Oeino design considering the Octopus cost a cool $200 million.
