The years spent away from the advert world gave them plenty of time to come up with a stunning concept, and the team in charge of this effort is a true who’s-who of media and fashion.
Rising Russian-Lithuanian model Bee Gee appears in the ads, wearing resplendent pieces from the Les Fabuleuses de Fabergé and Les Saisons Russes collections. The model was shot by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino, who has worked with numerous celebrities, most notably Diana, Princess of Wales. This marks the second time that Testino has teamed up with Fabergé Creative Director Katharina Flohr, as this duo also led the 1998 launch of Russian Vogue.
The ad tells a story of Fabergé’s long-standing history and devotion to fusing Western and Russian cultures past and present, with the gorgeous Bee Gee wearing the latest from the leader in haute jewelry. Also making a debut in this advertisement is a necklace that features the iconic Fabergé egg as a pendant.
The Fabergé house of jewelry was founded in 1842 in St. Petersburg, and developed a reputation as the country’s finest, as they were commissioned to create their decorative eggs for Russian royalty beginning with Tsar Alexander III in 1885.
