Zenith Pilot Lady Series Commemorates Contribution to Aviation

Photos Courtesy of Zenith
Born from the beauty and tradition of aviation, the women’s Pilot Lady Series by Zenith is an elegant celebration to the company’s dedication and contribution to flight. The watches are a bold luxury born of diamonds and gold. Coming in two variations, the 40 MM Lady is a classic piece with not only simple shapes and clean lines, but quality, award-winning movement. With a history rich in luxury timepieces, Zenith’s Pilot Lady speaks not only to the chic and fashionable, but to the distinguished traditionalist as well.
Founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jaot, the Swiss watch manufacturer Zenith has been at the height of reliable and luxury timepieces for nearly 150 years. In that time the company has won over 2,000 chronometry prizes and filled over 300 patents. In the early part of the last century, Zenith was a forerunner in flight instrument production; it was taken skyward by pioneer aviators such as Louis Blérlot and Léon Morane, before it became a permanent airplane instrument.
The women’s Pilot Lady Series taps into this rich history and pays tribute to the company’s early days of aviation. And the watches are a shining tribute—literally. Set with 491 diamonds on 18kt rose or white gold, one of version of the 40 MM Lady sparkles with 3 carats of diamonds, a satin strap and Zenith’s award winning movement. There are two variations of the Pilot Montre D’Aéronef Type 20-40 MM Lady, and though the second is less glittery, it is by no means any less breathtaking. With an alligator strap and diamonds only on the bezel, it’s an understated luxury. Both watches feature the Zenith Flying Instrument logo on the back and a face with Arabic numerals coated in illuminating SuperLuminova.
The Elite 681 automatic movement is water resistant up to 100 meters with 128 components and a second hand sub-dial at nine o’clock. The watch has a 28,800 VpH-(4HZ) frequency and a power reserve with a minimum of fifty hours. The chronograph is accurate to within 1/10th of a second, making it one of the most precise watches with over 36,000 vibrations per hour.

The alligator strap watches with diamonds around the bezel are available now in Zenith and specialty boutiques worldwide. The rose and while gold 3ct diamond face watches will be launched October 2013. Priced from $7,900-$42,000.
