Jewelery & Watches: After a lifetime spent marveling at the fine craftsmanship of antique jewelry, Alexis Bittar finally began designing his own line of jewelry out of his one bedroom East Village Apartment.

Today, his designs are a celebrity favorite, featured in Italian Vogue, InStyle, The New York Times Magazine, New York, German Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, W, and on Sex in the City.

The first Alexis Bittar jewelry line was influenced by retro Bakelite and Lalique glass and was created out of hand carved painted and gilded Lucite. The second line celebrates the beauty of precious and semi precious stones. Both lines show off Bittar's ability to combine unusual textures and mesh bold colors into noteworthy designs.

After selling his creations on the streets of New York, Alexis Bittar jewelry was eventually picked up the buyers for the Guggenheim Museum and Henri Bendel. He has also expanded into Saks Fifth Avenue. Currently, there are two Alexis Bittar Jewelry stores in Manhattan.

With such talent, Alexis Bittar's celebrity clientele is diverse and wide ranging, from Barbara Walters, Madeleine Albright, Oprah Winfrey, Eve, Annette Bening, Pink, Queen Latifah to the avante-garde Lady Gaga. Joan Collins is the current face of Alexis Bittar.

Alexis Bittar's eclectic styles and numerous collections can be found online as well as luxury department stores.
