British-born, New York-based designer Duncan Quinn is well known for razor sharp suits and accessories in his signature “Savile Row meets rock & roll” style. Quinn’s devotion to the good life doesn’t end with clothes however—he also has a wealth of knowledge about cars, yachts, wine and other elements of the true gentlemanly lifestyle. To give his best clients the benefit of his expertise, Quinn recently launched DQ Privée, a series of curated, extremely exclusive, invite-only events and concierge service for his dapper disciples.
The first DQ Privée event kicked off at the Monaco Grand Prix a few months back aboard an impressive sailing superyacht, followed by a vineyard tour and wine tasting. More recently he held a world-class Grand Cru wine dinner for a very privileged few—all decked out in bespoke Duncan Quinn suits of course—in a top secret NYC location. The event began in perfect taste with several bottles of Krug champagne followed by a flight of delectable grand cru vintages and a tasting menu by Aaron Taber of Grindhaus. While we can’t reveal all the details, we can tell you that Alexander van Beek of Chateau Giscours and Chateau du Tertre (both Grand Cru Classe in Bordeaux) and Veronique Sanders of Chateau Haut-Bailly (also Grand Cru Classe) were present and pouring their best.
“Essentially we curate a lifestyle,” Quinn says. “And we’re open to bucket list suggestions our members may be desirous of fulfilling.” Future DQ Privée events are set to include car rallies in the African bush, salmon fishing trips in Alaska and an even more exclusive excursion to Monaco. How to get on the list? Well a good way to start is by having Quinn custom make a suit for you. You’ll be in good company – the likes of Christian Louboutin, LeBron James and Adrien Grenier are also DQ devotées.
