In latest fashion news, Prada has tapped men-of-the-moment Ethan Hawke, Ansel Elgort, Jack O'Connell and Miles Teller for the new menswear Spring 15 campaign. Peeling a tangerine, cutting a photo in half and other nonsensical behavior makes for curious ads images, but it almost doesn’t matter considering how hot well-dressed they are. Showcasing a variety of pieces from the Spring/Summer 2015 line, Hawke and Teller are sporting thread-trimmed suits while O’Connell and Elgort are styled in relaxed knits and well-tailored jeans. Shot by Craig McDean on location in both London and New York, the campaign focuses on a ‘70s style aesthetic, and adds a cinematic element through black and white or highly contrasting color images.
As Prada’s men’s line is known for casting movie stars as well as those with critical acclaim (think James McAvoy, Ben Whishaw or Benicio Del Toro), we knew an all-star lineup was in the works. Hawke is not only a Hollywood mainstay, but up for a Golden Globe for his role in Boyhood (even the movie is up for Best Drama). Teller and O’Connell have just been nominated for BAFTA Rising Star awards, and O’Connell has recently been romantically linked to supermodel Cara Delevingne—needless to say he’s living life right now. Elgort has been gaining traction with his starring roles in Divergent and The Fault in Our Stars and this new Prada campaign is definitely adding to his superstar cred.
