Fine Spirits: Oxley, a new ultra-premium London dry gin rich with botanicals, has literally reinvented the way gin is made. To create the spirit, leading experts in gin and natural botanicals join forces with science to implement a new, unique cold distillation process while respecting and honoring the centuries-old traditions of classic English Dry gin. The heat used for traditional distillation can impact natural flavors. Through the boiling of botanicals as is standard practice, delicate flavors and aromas can be lost, altered or diminished, while harsh or "cooked" notes can emerge. Oxley is the first gin to employ sub-zero temperatures to preserve the natural essences of its ingredients.
Oxley carefully bottled by hand at 47% ABV and then hand-wrapped with a leather tie, signifying the final seal of quality. Only 240 of the bottles with galvanized metal accents are produced each day, making the gin a genuine rarity. Each of its 14 botanical ingredients including Juniper, citrus fruits, and Meadowsweet, is prepared, weighed and measured by hand. Unlike other gins which typically use dried peels, Oxley uses fresh, hand-peeled citrus fruits. Meadowsweet brings a rounded, almond flavor to Oxley and further harmonizes the botanicals in the spirit. To begin with Oxley will be available in limited quantities in select markets.
