Yachts and Boating News: The Ferretti Group is bolstering its presence in the U.S. market most formidably with its presentation of 15 yachts at this year's Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. Five of the 15 luxury vessels are being shown for the first time in U.S. waters. The much-anticipated Mochi Craft Long Range 23, the first zero-emissions, motor yacht in its category, is making its U.S. debut at the Ft Lauderdale event.

The Mochi Craft LR 23 has the highly regarded green stamp for a pleasure boat, the RINA "Green Star Clean Energy and Clean Propulsion" certification. RINA's criteria for certification are the most rigorous applicable for a pleasure watercraft. The 75.5-footer (23 meters) is designed to maximize comfort and ensure safety along with its official seal of approval in environmental awareness.

The Miami Herald reported that the Mochi Craft is powered by a hybrid, diesel-electric propulsion system, and that Ferretti claims its fuel consumption is reduced by 40 percent with a range of 1,000 miles. Additionally, company VP Andrea Frabetti conveyed that the LR 23 is capable of a top speed of 16 knots...even with the air conditioning and all the on-board appliances in use. It costs about $1 per mile to operate versus about $4 per mile for a conventional diesel-powered yacht.

The model lines comprising the Ferretti Group are Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Apreamare, Mochi Craft, CRN, and Custom Line. Ferretti's other U.S. debuts include the world's first look at the Bertram 511, the Ferretti 510, the Ferretti 830 Hard Top and the CRN Maraya by CRN. Allied Marine is the exclusive sales representative in the U.S. of the Ferretti Group.

The Ferretti Group will be at the Barcelona Boat Show, the International Boat & Sport Show, and the International Croatia Boat Show. For more information, visit Mochicraft-Yacht.com.
