Flight date, time and seats are all negotiated with other members at www.CoGoJets.com. Booking the private jet together allows the members to split the cost of travel based on how many seats their party will be occupying. As a result of sharing flights, empty seats are filled and customers save up to 50-90 percent off the retail cost of private jet travel. CoGoJets members can start connecting and booking flights through www.CoGoJets.com effective December 2, 2008.
Not only do CoGoJets members save tremendously in cost, they can also contribute to promoting a healthier planet. On a per-flight basis, members are able to donate to the CoGoEco Program, with the help of a Flight Carbon Calculator built into the website. All proceeds go to "Sustainable Travel International", a nonprofit organization committed to reducing the global environmental impact of travel and tourism.
"Even clients who can easily afford to fly private have been asking for a shared flight program. And after seeing half empty aircraft fly all over the U.S. every day, I saw an opportunity to provide a more fiscally minded and environmentally responsible means of private jet travel," said Jamie Walker, CoGoJets founder and CEO. A variety of Light Jet, Midsize Jet and Heavy Jet flights are available. Members need only to logon to the CoGoJets site to find other customers with similar needs to their own. CoGoJets normally offers its membership at $2,500 annually. Right now the company is offering an 80% discount at only $500.
"CoGoJets combines the social networking aspects of a Facebook® and the negotiating characteristics of an eBay® to connect a whole new private jet set," Walker said.
