 Luxury Aircraft: Singapore Airlines, "A class beyond first," is taking commercial travel to luxurious new heights.
Available only on Singapore Airlines A380 flights, the airline has amended luxury travel into private suites, complete with luxurious amenities. The A380 is now serving Sydney, London, Tokyo and soon Paris.
In "A class beyond first," travelers get to their destination in their own private suite. With only 12 suites available, the suites are at a premium for only the most discerning of travelers.
Each suite is complete with the roomiest seat available, a lavish armchair hand-stitched by master Italian craftsmen Poltrona Frau. The roomy seat is as comfortable as any lounge chair at home, at 35 inches across, with a sundeck position, adjustable headrest and armrests, and simple electronic controls.
But you don't have to sleep where you sit, as you usually do on an aircraft. The A380 also offers a standalone bed for weary travelers. The bed is complete with specially designed fine linen and full-sized pillows from Givenchy and guests can also enjoy Givenchy pajamas and even turn-down service.
Also included in the suite are Ferragamo toiletries, a full size Hollywood mirror and enhanced lighting to help you look and feel your best.
The suites are entirely private and furnished in soothing natural hues to enhance the feeling of space and home. The extra space also allows for more storage and even includes a full-length wardrobe.
If you choose, you can socialize in your private suite, which includes a large dining table and a lounge chair directly across from the armchair.
The luxurious suites also afford travelers the opportunity to avoid traditionally tasteless airline food and enjoy a menu of gourmet dining put together by the Singapore Airlines International Culinary Panel, at any time of day. Meals are served on elegant tableware, specially designed by Givenchy for the Singapore Airlines Suites. To compliment your meal, the A380 offers a selection of fine wines, carefully selected by a panel of experts.
To keep you connected, the suite also offers technological amenities, including a multi-port with power supply, headphone connection, USB ports and more, thanks to the KrisWorld, the state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system that ensures you will never be bored. KrisWorld and a 23-inch widescreen LCD allows passengers to enjoy a host of onscreen options, including audio and video-on-demand with 100 movies, including the latest blockbusters, and more than 180 TV shows. Music lovers can enjoy a selection of 700 CDs and over 20 radio channels.
Singapore Airlines A380 flights has taken all of the usual annoyances of airplane travel out with the introduction of their new suites. From providing the best in comfort, food and entertainment, their new class has certainly raised the bar for luxury travel.
