Adorable Alert! Kids Become Art Critics and Give Yayoi Kusama's Newest Show a Sticker of Approval

Photo/Video Credit: The Creators Project

The Creators Project have reminded us all, in the cutest way possible, that art is truly in the eye of the beholder. For the first Kids Critique episode, the project took a group of kids to see Yayoi Kusama’s newest show entitled Give Me Love at the David Zwirner gallery in New York. Without any preconceptions of what “good” art is, the kids responded naturally to the Japanese artist’s use of bold psychedelic colors and fun interactive installations. The short clip is barely over three minutes long, but shows the kids exploring The Obliteration Room with stickers (with one girl voicing that she would’ve liked to come up with the idea herself), the My Eternal Soul painting series (“I have the feeling of them coming alive in my dreams at night”), and the Pumpkins sculptures. They even asked what they thought the artist looks like, which garnered the response, “A really old old 30-year-old lady” from a little boy—watch it kid.
