 Luxury Vehicles: The Audi Q7 is the firm's first SUV release. The vehicle's engine comes in either a
4.2-liter V-8 FSI or a 3.6-liter V-6 FSI engine, and a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission comes with either engine. The SUV is just over 200 inches long, and its width is 85.7 inches. The ubiquitous Q7 goes from rugged to sporty flawlessly. The optional adaptive air suspension further enhances the smoothness of the all-wheel drive for both on-road and off-road riding. The additional airbag protection increases safety for passengers, as the airbags wrap around nearly covering the entire side windows.
With its extra large wheel arches, high-side panels, and double-spoke 20-inch wheels, the Q7's exterior is brawny. The basic colors are black, silver, and beige. New colors straight from the electric palette include cobalt-blue metallic, garnet-red-pearl effect, calla white, and sycamore-green metallic. Interior features include MMI, DVD navigation, Bluetooth technology, a Bose sound system with 14 speakers and a subwoofer, four-zone climate control, an advanced key with
keyless start, and a rear-view camera with Parktronic. Twenty-eight seating configurations are available.
The Q7's Paktronic system simplifies driving the "large" SUVs. The rearview camera's image is displayed on the MMI screen when the vehicle is in reverse, giving the driver complete info on what is behind the vehicle, making it easier to get out of tight squeezes. With so many SUVs out there with either scuffed tires or scratched wheels or both, the
Paktronic system is truly a significant value-added feature.
