Luxury Motorcycles: This bike looks fast even when it is parked! The amazing high-performance 2007 Ducati Desmonsedici RR was developed and inspired directly from Ducati's legendary racing bikes. It stems from the racing Ducati Desmosedici GP6. Ducati racer Mr. Loris Capirossi has used the GP6 to win three legs of the 2006 MotoGP World Championship. He has won in Spain, the Czech Republic, and Japan. Ducati-driven bikes have finished in the top 10 in 13 of the 15 completed rounds of this year's MotoGP World Championship. The competition consists of 17 rounds.
The RR gets over 200 horsepower from its 989 cc, L-four cylinder, twin-pulse configuration; 16 desmodromic titanium valves; quadruple 12-hole "micro-jet" fuel injectors; a cassette transmission; sand cast engine cases with magnesium covers; a 4-2-1- vertical-ducted exhaust system; and a dry "slipper" clutch. Desmodromic principles have been a major part of Ducati's racing bikes since the mid-1970s.
The chassis is a full carbon-fiber body with a hybrid Trellis frame, Brembo radial front calipers, and Marchesni magnesium wheels. There are two versions of the bike, the Desmosedici RR and the RR Team Version. A team decal comes with the Team Version model.
Ducati's website indicates that the suggested retail price for is $65,000 USD. A three-year warranty and three years of service are included along with a racing exhaust CPU, a bike cover, a Paddock stand, and a certificate of authenticity. Info on authorized dealers is available on the company's website.
