Luxury Cars: I'd like to think the "S" in the Aston Martin Vanquish S is named for one Sean Connery. He is the one man who helped put the British car producer on the map. As an actor portraying secret agent James Bonds, 007 drove the 1963 DB5; it secured the company's identity as a purveyor of fast sexy cars driven by men who wreaked havoc on villains throughout the free world.
Vanquish means to over-come, annihilate, subdue, crush and conquer. We'd like to wish Sir Connery our best as he recovers from one to many hits to the kidneys while vanquishing the bad guys. Doctors found a cyst and performed surgery a few weeks ago but today he was given a clean bill of health.
The Vanquish S' kidneys are supported by a V12 engine, a posh interior and boasts Formula One-level features, including a six-speed manual transmission operated with steering wheel-mounted paddles. The mechanism enables you to change gears within 250 milliseconds - in other words, faster than the blink of an eye. Qualities that any good spy needs while protecting the Kingdom.
