 Luxury Vehicles: Each release of the Lexus GX 470 proves that something great still has room for improvement. Over the few years, the alpha midsize SUV has picked up numerous awards and accolades for its quality and performance. The 2007 model has the largest engine ever used in an SUV by Lexus. The five-speed automatic has a 32-valve, four-cam, V-8 engine with 263 horsepower. It also has continuous
four-wheel drive with a limited-slip center differential. Other performance attributes include rear-air suspension, kinetic-dynamic suspension, ventilated disc brakes, and speed-sensitive steering.
The safety features on the GX are on parity with its performance. The downhill- and uphill-assist controls
keep the vehicle steady when slippage and unwanted downhill acceleration are issues. The airbags and the side-impact beams offer equal protection to all passengers, and the ABS with brake assistance automatically adjusts brake pressure in accordance to the weight of the load being carried.
The inside has adaptable seats, Bluetooth technology, a rear-seat entertainment system, a back-up camera, an MP3 port in the rear center console, a voice-activated, DVD navigational system, and the Lexus Link. The GX 470 sets on 17-inch alloy wheels, and it comes in six colors with matching color-key trim. There is a power moon-roof, heated outside mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, four-beam headlamps, mudguards, and a tow-hitch receiver.
Industry insiders are already speculating on the number of awards the 2007 Lexus GX 470 may receive for this year's model.
