 Photo Courtesy of Pebble Beach Resorts If you happen to be one of the lucky ones enjoying Pebble Beach this weekend during the world famous Concours d’Elegance, you may be interested in finding a neat place to grab a tasty bite to eat. The Bench restaurant, having recently opened, may be a perfect choice for you to unwind. The eclectic menu, lush views of the 18th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links, and toasty fire pits certainly won't hurt the experience.
The Bench can be found at The Lodge, a part of Pebble Beach Resorts. It boasts a casual, but still sophisticated, atmosphere, which would be great for anyone who may not have time to change for dinner. The glass-enclosed dining room has an open-air floor plan, allowing movement and breeze to pass through easily. Fire pits can be found on the outdoor patio, keeping you warm while you enjoy a meal and unique cocktails.

The restaurant's menu is full of wood-roasted specialties, meaning that guests will find foods of all types (including Asian, Middle Eastern, and Italian), all cooked using a wood roasting and open flame method. The Burrata & Jersey Ricotta, with olives and marinate tomatoes, looks like a great appetizer. Maybe take advantage of the wood-burning style and follow it up with a Wood-Grilled Steak, with sweet and sour mushrooms, and roasted garlic jus. If you're thinking of ordering a cocktail (or maybe three), we'd try out the Thai One On for sure, with Bison Grass Vodka, Thai-basil puree, cucumber and ginger syrup.
Originally from Lebanon, Chef Yousef Ghalaini has had tons of culinary experience. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley, CA. and began working at the Michelin-rated REDD restaurant. While at REDD, Yousef focused on a blend of California and French cuisine, making sure to always pair the meals with the perfect wines. He went on to open restaurants in California and Florida, before making his way to Pebble Beach Resorts. He prefers to use local Monterey and Salinas Valley ingredients whenever he can, helping to craft tasty dishes that are healthy and sustainable.
