Designer Alexander Amosu and champagne brand Goût de Diamants have apparently created the world's most expensive bottle of champagne, costing £1,200,000 (about $1.8 million) and called the Taste of Diamonds. Goût de Diamants made the bottle for a wealthy client who wanted something special, and Goût is hoping that the attention will help them become the world's most enjoyed champagne.
"All our bottles come as standard with an exquisite diamond-themed bottle design encrusted with a diamond cut Swarovski crystal. We wanted to take it one step further and create a one-off masterpiece for one of our private wealthy clients and we are very pleased with the results," says brand representative Shammi Shinh.
Told to come up with something unique, Amosu took inspiration from the Superman logo when creating the design. He handcrafted the diamond design from 18kt solid white gold and placed a single deep cut 19kt diamond in the center. The bottle's label was also made from gold and was hand engraved with the client's name. "The bottle already has a distinctive look with its natural design, all I had to do is bring it to the next level of ultimate luxury," says Amosu.
