Award-winning Flor de Caña (most known for their slow-aged rum of Nicaragua) recently released their Centenario 25, which is the brand's finest rum yet. The spirit has a "deep and elegant amber hue" that gives "hints of vanilla, wood and dark cocoa, [drawing] you into a smooth, luxurious taste that offers further notes of fruit, almond and caramel and a touch of sweetness that lingers in the long, buttery finish." Centenario 25 is made using a slow-aged process, in which the natural temperature, ventilation and length of the aging process makes sure that extra flavors or aromas aren't added into the final rum. After that, it's aged slowly for years in charred, white oak barrels that were once used for American bourbon whiskies. Suggesting you enjoy it neat or on the rocks, Flor de Caña packages the rum in an elegant square bottle with a black and gold label picturing a Nicaraguan volcano, topped with a cork embossed with a gold medal coin.
