Focus on the Stars with Orion's SkyQuest XT12 IntelliScope
Stargazing is amazing with
the Orion's SkyQuest XT12 IntelliScope. This device
brings big-aperture astronomy lovers a better picture
with its ingenious design and technical capabilities.
Its 12-inch (305mm) parabolic primary
mirror brings in over 40 percent more light than
10-inch mirrors and 126 percent more than 8-inch
mirrors. It also features a 2-inch Crayford-style
focuser that improves its performance. The focuser
also includes an adapter for 1.25-inch eyepieces.
The IntelliScope's optional computerized object
locator can be plugged into the base of the scope to
locate up to 14,000 celestial objectswith the simple
push of a button. The unit's solid metal focusing
knobs with
rubber grips makes it easy to adjust the tension lock
to the
focus position. The optical tube, which uncouples from
the base for easy transporting, is nearly 5 feet long
and weighs 50 pounds. The base is 2.5 feet tall, 2 1/6
feet wide, and weighs 33 pounds.
Orion's SkyQuest XT12 IntelliScope puts a new wrinkle
in to the twinkle of those little (big) stars. Orion
has an array of telescopes that bring clarity to
astronomical matters.
