Home Entertainment: There are always
announcements of newer, bigger, better, and improved
products rolling out of the press releases stemming
from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which is
being held in Las Vegas. So, it really is not a big surprise that a bigger world's largest LCD television is forthcoming to the marketplace by summer 2007. The Sharp 108-inch HD LCD is the latest largest television. However, will it still be the largest LCD TV by the time it is available to consumers? The price of the latest "biggest" LCD TV remains a company secret.
A company press release indicates that the picture quality compares favorably with the best plasma displays. This is the eighth generation of AQUOS HD LCD TVs. Sharp also is introducing new DLP front projectors at CES with new DLP technology advancements by Texas Instruments. The latest AQUOS offers improved contrast ratios, more inputs than previous models, and better response times. AQUOS has over 50 models with
screens ranging from 13 to 108 inches. Additionally, Sharp is showcasing an iPod docking system and a series of TVs specifically intended for gamers.
Sharp, which has a manufacturing site in Kameyama, Japan, solely dedicated to the evolving technological developments of big screen TVs, is a worldwide leader in flat-panel LCD TV and has won an Emmy® award for the technology behind the AQUOS line.
