Luxury Electronics: There is an agony and ecstasy experienced by people who enjoy listening to music through an MP3 player while exercising outdoors. While listening to motivating tunes can make the sweating go smoother, the effort spent trying to keep those bouncing headphones in place can be very frustrating. The Thump Pro just may be the agony eliminator with an MP3 player that is built directly into a pair of lightweight sunglasses.
The Thump Pro is wireless and has a gigabyte of storage space -- which means it holds around 1,000 songs. It is sweat-resistant, weighs only 49 grams, and plays up to six hours per battery charge. The musical sunglasses are offered in six models and have interchangeable lenses. The sunglasses also can be fitted with prescription lenses.
According to the manufacturer, the Thump Pro has improved sweat-resistance and padding in the frame keeps the sunglasses in place on the face. A video on Oakley's Web site shows that jolts incurred from strenuous activities, such as mountain biking, running and volleyball, are no problem for the Thump Pro.
It is priced at $249 and available online at www.Oakley.com.
