Luxury Electronics: Hauppauge Digital's new WinTV-HVR-950Q is a small, portable USB TV tuner stick, which can be used to watch and record digital/analog cable TV and over-the-air HDTV on a laptop or desktop PC. The unit allows Windows users to watch, pause or record analog or digital TV directly on their personal computer or laptop.

The pocket size unit makes it ideal for traveling because of its simplistic use with laptop and notebook computers. You can use the unit to record your favorite analog or digital TV shows using high quality MPEG-2. Just sit back and relax while watching your TV recordings directly on your screen.

High definition digital TV will bring you a sharper TV image with clear sound. The unit allows you to watch high definition digital TV at up to 1080i on your PC screen. WinTV-HVR-950's ATSC digital TV receiver also has automatic identification of channel names plus will record high-definition digital TV programs to your PC's hard disk in a MPEG-2 format without losing quality. The ATSC digital TV is free-to-air digital television for North America. ATSC digital television typically requires an antenna for reception, and is currently broadcast in 200 cities, with over 1500 TV stations.

With WinTV-Scheduler, so you can record your favorite TV programs daily, weekly or once only. It is important to note that ATSC digital television is not digital cable television nor digital satellite. When ATSC digital TV comes to a region, the WinTV-HVR-950 receives the new digital channels.

The unit is very simple to install - just plug it into your PC's USB 2.0 port and connect a TV antenna. Shortly after, you will soon be watching analog or high definition ATSC digital TV on your PC screen. If you travel a lot, the WinTV-HVR-950 comes complete with a portable digital antenna, which allows you to receive digital television up to 10 miles from a ATSC transmitter.
