Luxury Electronics: Luxury gadget fiends get ready to replace last year's must have iPhone. The first Android-powered mobile phone with Google features has been announced. The G1 (formerly known as the HTC Dream) is truly a dream for multimedia lovers that enjoy an elegant aesthetic.
The G1 features a curved body that makes it seem more like an old fashioned telephone receiver than the flat box shape of cell phones. The sleek device is 4.6 inches tall by 2.1 inches wide by 0.6 inch deep and weighing 5.6 ounces. It also has a full QWERTY keyboard and is the first real competitor to last year's iPhone.
The phone also offers a touch screen, which responds only to fingers and not objects. With a clear and vibrant resolution on it's 3.2 inches diagonal screen, it offers customable features so that your phone is truly yours.
The G1 also comes with a wide array of accessories, features, voice features, as well as WI-FI capability and 3G.
If the G1 isn't hot enough for you, check out the edgy new HTC Touch HD. With downlink speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps the HTC Touch HD is able to display full web pages, just like a home computer.
"Today, Widescreen TV, Internet and video have become the standard so there is no reason to compromise when you leave the house, the Touch HD delivers that uncompromising multimedia and Internet experience," said Peter Chou, president and CEO HTC Corporation. "We are living in a time where the concept of entertainment has radically changed. The internet is so much more than just email and our customers expect to be able to access the Internet and high quality multimedia content no matter where they are in the world."
Although currently available only in Europe, the HTC Touch HD will soon be available in the United States and other countries as well.
