Luxury Cell Phones: If you're looking for the ultimate luxury accessory, look no further than the Dior Phone.
Manufactured by French designer phone specialist Modelabs, the phone ranges from $3,500 to $5,000, depending on whether you have it bejeweled with real diamonds or Swarovski crystals.
The so-called "Lady Dior," has a crocodile skin exterior, which is inlaid with 640 stones of 3251 carats of Swarovski crystals. The handset includes a 2.6-inch touch screen with QVGA resolution, 2.0-megapixel camera and ringtones. It also comes with a smaller version that clips on to the outside of your purse so that you don?t have to rummage through your purse to find your phone.
"In the same way that we have developed our watch and jewelry lines, we want to increase sales with the phone," said Sidney Toledano, Christian Dior CEO. "What really convinced us was seeing the attention people in emerging markets pay to buying a phone, by selecting the color and design."
The phone comes with hand-brushed stainless steel and is engraved with Dior and CD logos. The phone is ultra-lightweight and slim and has a black sapphire crystal while the matching "My Dior" miniphone has a diamond. The Diamont version incorporates diamonds onto the diamond pattern design as well as the hinge at the flip and on the ultra-flat keyboard.
The Dior phone is the latest luxury mobile phone, following on the heels of Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Giorgio Armani. Out pricing the rest, the phone also outranks them all by being stunning yet functional, like Dior's "new look."
