Luxury Writing Instruments: The writing pen is now a fairly smart personal device tool!

The Pulse "smartpen" by Livescribe makes taking notes a whole lot simpler with its built-in infrared camera, an OLED display a 3-D recording device, an audio jack, a speaker and a mobile USB charging cradle. With all those "smartphones" on the market, it was just a matter of time before another everyday item decided to smarten up too!

The Pulse "smartpen" by Livescribe is a writing instrument that is an intelligence-enhancement tool. It upgrades a user's note-taking skills tenfold. The accompanying digitized 100-sheet notebook, which is used in conjunction with the Pulse, is no dummy either. The system enables a user to record and take notes simultaneously. It really knows how to effectively capture a moment.

The Pulse "smartpen" is compatible with Windows and Mac platforms. One- and two-gig variants are available at $149.95 and $199.95, as seen on the company's Web site.
