Panasonic's 103-inch Plasma TV in U.S. by Christmas!
Luxury Electronics: Hold off a moment on
sending that final Christmas wish list off to the
North Pole! However, it also may be necessary to
either get the chimney refitted wider or to pick up a
stocking large enough to hold a 103-inch plasma
television. That is the size of things to come from
Panasonic's Viera PZ600 series. It is the largest
plasma television screen manufactured to date. Five
thousand of these super mega-plasma machines are to be
shipped worldwide. Panasonic USA announced that the
U.S. gets its share in December 2006 at a price of
$70,000 per set. The units will be built to order and
available in select high-end electronics retailers.
The 103-incher is now available in Japan.
Along with the TH-103PZ600U, the Viera PZ600
collection has a total of four models that also
include 50-, 58-, and 65-inch models. Notable features
include 1920 x 1080 resolution; 16:9 image ratio; a
contrast ratio of 4000:1; and an analog/digital tuner.
Its effective display area is more than 89.3 inches
wide by over 50.2 inches high.
The Panasonic Plasma Concierge program covers all
owners of Panasonic's plasma televisions. The
program's purpose is to improve overall customer
service by providing information from trained
specialists to help users maximize satisfaction and
pleasure from their HDTV. Over $15 million is being
invested into this program. Measurable improvements in
Panasonic's customer call center and its website are
anticipated. It is all about making customers happy.
